LOOKING AFTER LITTLE SMILES
Bringing your child to the dentist from a young age lays the foundations for good dental health. Many of the Whitecart Dental Care team are parents themselves so know the importance of making sure the dental experience for your little one is a positive one. In the practice our younger patients will find lots of things to keep them amused in our dedicated kids zone and Pixar themed treatment room.
You can bring your child in to see us as soon as their milk teeth start to appear, this not only allows us check everything is as it should be, but also begins the process of familiarising them with the practice environment. Early dental visits help reduce the chances of them developing dental fear or phobia later on in life, it is also the best way to ensure that if any issues develop they can be dealt with promptly and with minimal discomfort.
Good dental hygiene at home is essential for healthy teeth and gums, always ensure that your child brushes their teeth in the morning after breakfast and in the evening before bed. A great way to get your children to brush by brushing with them! It’s a fun way for you to guide them into a healthy brushing routine, and it also gives you the chance to monitor their progress and brush time. Additionally, it helps everyone involved become more accountable for their mouth care!
Sugary snacks and drinks are the number 1 cause of decay in children, look at limiting sweet treats and soft drinks and replacing them with teeth friendly alternatives, crunchy fruit and veg are a great source of fibre and also clean teeth as they are eaten.
If you have any questions relating to your child’s dental health our team are always happy to help
